The gunman who killed 26 people at a Florida gun show and left a woman dead was shocked by the rampage.
The gunman was also killed by police.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement said Thursday that two law enforcement officers were wounded in the shooting, which took place in the early morning hours of Saturday.
One officer was shot in the leg and the other in the right leg, and both were treated and released from the hospital.
Both officers were in stable condition.
The other officer was treated and is in stable conditions.
The department did not say if the wounded officers were related.
Authorities said that at least one of the victims was shot after a confrontation with the gunman outside a local gun show in Pensacola, Florida.
The man who opened fire at the show told police he acted in self-defense and had been “stunted” by the incident, the Florida Department Of Law Enforcement told The Associated Press.
The gunman was wearing a mask when he opened fire.
He was later identified as 26-year-old Joshua Lee Boyd, who authorities identified as the gunman in the Friday night shooting.
Police in Florida have said they are investigating the gunman’s motives, but said they had no evidence linking him to terrorism.
