— Firefighters have saved a man’s life after his car crashed through a window and flipped onto its side in the woods near a popular biking trail.
The crash happened Sunday at about 9:20 a.m. at the intersection of East Bay and South Bay avenues in the Forest Hills area.
The man was not hurt.
A witness said he was on his way to work when he heard the crash.
“I thought it was a car accident,” he said.
Firefighters and members of the Portland Police Department responded to the scene.
An ambulance crew arrived at the scene within 15 minutes.
At the scene, firefighters used plywood to stop the car from coming down.
Witnesses told KGW the driver was riding his bicycle through the woods when he crashed.
He did not see the crash coming.
Several of the residents of the area said they saw a green Nissan pickup truck with its lights on.
When firefighters got there, they said they found no sign of the pickup truck.
No charges have been filed.
