DALLAS — It’s a new-look Houston Astros squad, but one that has been waiting for its first big win in three years.
With a few months left before the end of the season, manager A.J. Hinch said the team has been working hard to prepare for the upcoming season.
“We’re trying to be as well prepared as possible to compete for a championship,” Hinch told reporters on Tuesday.
“We’ve had the opportunity to put ourselves in position to do that and we’re going to do everything we can to make sure that happens.”
The players have a lot of energy.
We’re getting ready to go to work, but we’re not worried about where the season’s going to end up.
We have a couple of guys who are coming in and have done a lot to help the team.
I think we’ve been preparing for it for a while.
“The Astros, currently 11-10, have won four of their last six games, including a 3-1 victory over the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday night.
They are currently in first place in the AL West.
The Astros have won 11 of their past 13 games and have swept three of their final four games.
The team is also undefeated at home, having won 12 straight.”
They’re all very excited and ready to get on the road to win and to win in the best way possible.””
I think the guys that are here right now have a good sense of where we’re at.
They’re all very excited and ready to get on the road to win and to win in the best way possible.”
Hopefully the way we’re playing this year will be the way that we’re having success.
We’ve had good results and hopefully we can continue that and continue to be successful in the next few years.
“Hinch was asked about some of the players that were suspended during the ALDS and whether they are back on the field for this upcoming season, which is not likely.”
No, I’m not going to say that,” he said.
